Mandarin Dhamma talk and lunch dāna

Venerable Jutipañño Mahāthero, Abbot of Dhamma Light Meditation Centre at Api-Api in Johor, will be giving a Dhamma talk in Mandarin this Sunday 14 January at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  We invite you and your loved ones to come to learn and reflect on the Buddha’s teachings with Ven. Jutipañño.  The service starts at 9am with meditation, offerings and chanting.  There will also be a meal offering to venerable sir after the talk.  Everyone is welcome to bring along cooked food or fruits as offering.

Mandarin Dhamma talk by Ven. Jutipañño

We invite you to come and learn from Venerable Jutipañño Mahāthero on Sunday, 14 January.  A monk of Malaysian Chinese descent, Ven. Jutipañño was ordained at Wat Bhodhisampan, Chonburi in 1991.  He returned to Malaysia from Thailand in 2000, and established Dhamma Light Meditation Centre at Api-Api, Johor, where he currently serves as its abbot.  Ven. Jutipañño also previously served on the Monastic Advisory Panel of the Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia.

Luang Por Viradhammo talks about awareness

On Tuesday 19 December, Nalanda members and devotees joyfully welcomed Luang Por Viradhammo, Abbot of Tisarana Monastery in Ottawa back to Nalanda, 4 years after his last visit.  Grateful to learn from Luang Por in person, the congregation listened attentively to his talk about training the mind and to experience stillness within.

From 10 to 12 December, we were honoured to host Ven. Ayya Santinī, Abbess of Wisma Kusalayani in Bandung on her short trip to Malaysia, en-route to Singapore.  Nalanda members were very happy to get re-acquainted and learn Dhamma with Ayya Santinī in the evening talk on Tuesday 12 December.

Welcoming Ajahn Jayanto after a decade

Just 2 days ago on Friday 1 December, Nalanda had the priviledge of hosting Ajahn Jayanto at Wisdom Park, whose last visit with us was exactly a decade ago at Sri Serdang.  Ajahn was introduced to the educational campus, its objectives and programmes carried out for the community, to which he rejoiced and encouraged us to continue providing these opportunities for Buddhists not to only learn Dhamma, but to cultivate continuous mindfulness in order to purify the mind.
