Nalanda Centre is honoured to welcome and host Ven. Ayya Santinī from 10 to 13 December during her visit to Malaysia.  Ayya Santinī is the abbess of a nunnery in Maribaya, Indonesia, and a well-known Dhammaduta there.  We joyfully invite you and your loved ones to join the Dhamma talk by Ayya Santinī at 8pm on Tuesday 12 December at Nalanda Centre.  All are welcome!

Pindacāra & Dhamma talk by Ajahn Jayanto

We invite you to join us for Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) led by Ajahn Jayanto, on Saturday 2 December at the Taman O.U.G. (8.30am) and Happy Garden (9.30am) morning markets.  After the alms-round, we also invite you to join us for a Dhamma talk by Ajahn Jayanto, followed by offering of lunch dāna to the Sangha at NEO Centre, Happy Garden. You may bring along cooked vegetarian food and fruits to offer.  All are welcome!

Nottingham Buddhist Society learns ‘kamma’ with Nalanda Youth

On Thursday 9 November, Bro. Ajit Lim delivered a Dhamma talk about the universal law of cause and effect (‘kamma’ and ‘vipaka’) at Nottingham Buddhist Society’s weekly gathering. It was an apt topic for the university students, to help them better understand how to face the many vicissitudes of life.  With the knowledge that every intentional thought, speech and action has its corresponding effect, the students reflected on how they can better direct themselves towards wholesome behaviours and a more meaningful life.

Sanghasena, Founder and President of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre in Ladakh, is visiting Malaysia until 25 November in conjunction with the “Jambudvipa-Suvarnabhumi Buddhist Youth Exchange Programme”.

Nalanda youth speaks at Nottingham Buddhist Society

On Tuesday, 24 October, Nottingham Buddhist Society hosted Nalanda Youth leader, Bro. Yeo Disheng for a Dhamma talk at their weekly meeting.  Even after a full day at lectures, the students were eager to deepen their understanding about the Five Precepts, in the company of their alumni members.

Staying firm when things fall apart

On Sunday 17 September, Achariya S. Vijaya gave a rousing talk on how we can stay firm in facing the eight winds in life, especially when challenges arise.  If the mind is untrained, it flutters like the leaf blown by the wind, because it reacts impulsively based on our likes or dislikes.  As Buddhists, we can develop the mind, through learning, practising and realising the profound Dhamma, so that we can distance ourselves from unwholesome mental factors.

Uposatha Service & Dhamma talk by Ven. Ariyadhammika

We invite you to join us this Friday 15 September on the new-moon day of the month Assayuja, for the evening Uposatha Service and a Dhamma talk by Ven. Ariyadhammika, Saṅghaṇāyaka of Sasanarakha Buddhist Sanctuary Monk Training Centre in Taiping. Ven. Ariyadhammika, who is from Austria, was ordained in 2005 in Myanmar with Pa-Auk Sayadaw as his preceptor and meditation teacher.
