On Friday 24 April, Nalanda Founder Bro. Tan was invited to speak at an Interfaith Dialogue organized by the Muslim Students Association of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang. The theme of the dialogue was, “Can religion achieve Peace and Happiness?”

He was then invited by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) as a speaker for the “Dhamma Loy Fa” programme. Bro. Berjaya Founder’s Day is an annual celebration of philanthropy, volunteerism and community service. It is held in conjunction with the birthday of Berjaya Group’s founder, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Vincent Tan.
Read moreOn Sunday 15 March, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Buddhist Society Alumni (PBUPM-A) held their 9th Annual General Meeting at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang. The Management Committee duly presented the annual activities report at the meeting for members’ approval. The Alumni has been active in keeping contact with UPM Buddhist graduates and inspiring them to further their Dhamma practice. Imee, who was accompanied by her colleague Mr. Chai Yu, spent two hours touring the Centre and having discussions with Nalanda officers. They later made a courtesy call on Nalanda Founder, Bro Tan.

Read moreFrom 10 – 12 February, Nalanda Buddhist Society participated in the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Buddhist Carnival held at its Sungai Long Campus, Kajang. Enthusiastic Nalandians were at the campus early to set up an information booth and to lend their support to the Carnival. They actively engaged with the UTAR students who streamed through the different exhibits and activities.
Read moreOn 10 October, Nalanda Founder Bro. Tan was invited to Central Kedah Buddhist Association in Sungai Petani to give a keynote presentation on the “Buddhist Presence in Kedah”. The special talk was in conjunction with the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia’s “Dharma Walk” programme held at the same venue. Members from more than 20 Kedahan Buddhist societies attended the event. Read more
