From 12 – 13 November, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted 4 leaders from Buddhist Fellowship Youth Singapore for two days of leadership exchange. It was the maiden visit for the Singaporean youth leaders, and they were brought on an extensive building tour of Nalanda Centre to learn more about Buddhist history, culture and values that were embedded in its architecture and design.

Read moreOn 1 May ‘Nalanda Day’, the new batch of elected office-bearers took their ‘pledge of service’, in a simple ceremony at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang. The new Board was elected at the Society’s 16th Annual General Meeting held on 17 March, with nine out of eleven members retained. Bro. Vincent Lee and Bro. Pee Che Yong retired from the Board after serving two continuous terms, with much appreciation from members.

They were brought on an extensive tour of the construction site which spans 12 acres currently.

State Assemblyman for Seri Kembangan Yang Berhormat Ean Yong Hian Wah and Assemblyman for Kinrara Yang Berhormat Ng Sze Han came with their young families to participate in the annual Heritage Procession around Sri Serdang.
Read moreFor three days from 30 March to 1 April, representatives of Theravāda Buddhist organisations in Malaysia gathered in Puchong for the first-ever Leaders’ Summit to discuss ways to improve leadership quality for the community. The inaugural Summit was jointly organised by Nalanda Institute and the Theravāda Buddhist Council of Malaysia. It targeted society Presidents, Deputy Presidents, Honorary Secretaries, and Youth Leaders as participants. All in, twenty organisations sent 76 delegates to the convention.
