Nalanda members concluded yet another successful Annual General Meeting (A.G.M.) on Sunday 12 March – the 14th edition since the Society’s establishment in 2003. As customary, the meeting was preceded by paying homage to the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha at the main Shrine Hall of Nalanda Centre, followed by ‘Achariya-abhivādana’ – paying respects to our late spiritual adviser, Ven. K. Sri Dhammananda, at Sumangala Room.

Read moreOver the Christmas weekend from 24 to 26 December, Nalanda Dhamma School (NDS) facilitators went to Kuala Selangor for their three-day annual get-together. This year, the 25 facilitators from Serdang, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru branches were joined by 10 Nalanda youths at the retreat.

Also in attendance were senior Nalandian officers Bro. Ananda Fong, Sis. Sandy Lim and Sis. Santī Cheang. At the informal meeting, they discussed the upcoming WACANA 2017 Buddhist Conference which will be held on 1 July 2017. Dr. Wong indicated his unequivocal support for the conference, which is themed “The Buddha Word – Discovering the Essential”.

This year’s WACANA Conference will be the fifth since 2007. It is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 1 July 2017, in Subang Jaya, Selangor. The theme for the conference is “The Buddha Word – Discovering the Essential”.
