On Saturday 9 July, Nalanda Centre was honoured by the visit by 25 Singapore Buddhist Fellowship (BF) members and volunteers, led by its Deputy President Bro. Jerry Ong. Their visit was part of the regular exchanges between BF and Nalanda, to learn from each other in order to enhance both organisations.

The meeting was aimed at unifying hearts and sharing ideas on the Society’s way forward.

Read moreIn late March, the 15-member Wisdom Park Development Committee (WPDC) appointed several sub-committees to look into different aspects of project implementation, especially in relation to Phase 1 of construction. The WPDC has recommended that the starting of physical construction be brought forward by one year (to 2017 instead of 2018), as good progress is being achieved in planning and organizing.

During the gathering, Nalanda founder Bro. Tan shared about the Buddha’s teaching to Venerable Ananda in the Mahāparinibbāna Sutta (DN 16) on the conditions which would contribute to the progress of a community.

In a meeting with the Board of Management (BoM) in Sri Serdang tonight, Bro. Tan said that branch centres can play a more proactive and effective role in promoting holistic Buddhist education to their local communities.
