Community rejoices in opportunities to give

On Saturday 16 November, Ven. Alokavamsa led the Pindacara programme at the Seri Kembangan markets, together with Sayalay Diṭṭhisampadā and Sayalay Mittādevī.   The community gave with much joy as they relished the sight of figures clad in brown robes walking calmly and composed, stopping occasionally at the behest of those preparing their offerings.

Offer meal dāna to Ven. Alokavamsa

We invite you to join us in offering meal dāna to Ven. Alokavamsa, Sayalay Diṭṭhisampadā and Sayalay Mittādevī at Nalanda Centre. Breakfast dāna will be offered on Tuesday 26 November.  On Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 November, breakfast and lunch dāna will be offered at 7am and 11am respectively.  You may bring cooked food and fruits to offer.  Thank you.

Dhamma Talk by Ajahn Karuniko

We are privileged to host Ven. Ajahn Karuniko on Wednesday 27 November for a Dhamma teaching. Ajahn Karuniko is from Greater Manchester, England and was ordained as a monk in 1984 at Cittaviveka with Ajahn Sumedho as his preceptor. He has served previously as the Abbot of Cittaviveka Chithurst Forest Monastery in the U.K.

Ven. Chandima talks about patience and tolerance

On Sunday 10 November, Nalanda members and devotees learned about cultivating patience and tolerance with Ven. Dr. Chandima who started by distinguishing that tolerance is about accepting external differences or discomforts without resistance whereas patience is inward in nature, about how one maintains composure through challenging situations.

Hosting Ven. Ālokavaṃsa at Nalanda Centre

Nalanda is hosting Ven. Ālokavaṁsa, Sayalay Diṭṭhisampadā and Sayalay Mittādevī from 12 – 28 November 2024 at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  Ven. Ālokavaṁsa is a bhikkhu from Indonesia and ordained in Myanmar in the Pak-Auk forest meditation tradition. He currently resides in Pondok Girivana Bali, Indonesia.  During their stay, take this opportunity to learn and make offerings to a well-practised Sangha member. All are welcome!

Pindacāra led by Ven. Alokavamsa in Seri Kembangan

We invite you and your loved ones to join this month’s Pindacāra (monks on alms-round) led by Ven. Alokavamsa, an Indonesian bhikkhu and practitioner at Pa-Auk Meditation Centre in Myanmar. The alms-round this coming Saturday 16 November, will start at 8.30am at the Pasar Basah Bazar Rakyat. Volunteers will gather at Nalanda Centre at 7.30am.

Venerable nuns on alms-round in O.U.G. & Happy Garden

On Saturday 2 November, the Buddhist community came together to offer alms to venerable nuns during the monthly Pindacāra programme organised by Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch.  A familiar practice for many at the O.U.G. and Happy Garden morning markets, market goers and stall operators offered their requisites generously to the nuns.
