Heritage Procession

Come and join the iconic Heritage Procession on Wesak Full-moon Buddha Day, 22 May, at 7.30pm for a spiritual celebration of the Buddha’s Enlightenment.   The community gathers yearly for this tranquil and unique cultural experience where the Buddharupam is conveyed on a wooden sedan to the harmonious beat of drums and gongs, accompanied by beautifully hand-crafted paraphernalia.

4 days to Buddha Day – Meditation & Sutta Study

Join us for a special sutta study session on Buddha Day, Wednesday 22 May, to explore the Ānuttariya Sutta (Anggutara Nikaya 6.30).  In this Sutta, the Buddha explained the six unsurpassable (ānuttariya) factors that conduce to personal development as the basis for awakening.  We will get to know better the various qualities and path of practice that encompasses ethical living, meditation, and the cultivation of insight.

Special forum at Parents Induction Programme

Last Sunday 12 May, Nalanda Dhamma School hosted a special forum for the final session of the Parents Induction Programme.  Parents listened intently to the panellist of Dhamma School graduates who shared how their lives had improved over the years because of Dhamma learning and cultivation from young, as well as the development of kalyana mittata (spiritual friendship) which continue to support them today.

5 days to Buddha Day – join us for Buddha Pūja

On the auspicious full-moon day of Wesak, join us at Nalanda Centre to commemorate the Enlightenment of our Teacher, the Buddha by learning and reflecting on Dhamma together.  The service will start with Buddha Pūja, followed by a Dhamma talk by Bro. Tan Siang Chye on the theme “Peace begins with Me”.

Volunteers get ready to welcome community on Buddha Day

Last Sunday 12 May, over 80 volunteers gathered at Nalanda Centre to prepare for Buddha Day.  In the company of like-minded friends, volunteers were briefed on the significance of this observance, and how we can help the community have a meaningful and spiritual commemoration.  They also got to know their team leaders and members better, and familiarised themselves with the programmes as well as their roles.
