From 30 December to 2 January, Nalanda youth leaders and members will gather at Nalanda Centre and Wisdom Park for their annual Fuel-Up Camp. After a really active year of reaching out with various youth programmes, events and leadership exchanges, they will take this opportunity to reflect on their journey on a personal and organisational level, discuss pertinent issues regarding the Youth Centre, and gear up for the year ahead. We wish our Nalanda youths leaders a fruitful retreat!

The university students reflected on what they had learnt throughout the programme and shared about the wholesome habits and values that they are trying to enhance in their lives.

It was the maiden visit for the Singaporean youth leaders, and they were brought on an extensive building tour of Nalanda Centre to learn more about Buddhist history, culture and values that were embedded in its architecture and design.

Read moreOn 18 September, 100 participants from the Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults spread out across Wisdom Park to render their service in cultivating and maintaining the campus grounds. The youths worked hard in teams to plant trees, turf grass, and constructed a vegetable plot with positivity, harmony and a can-do spirit – not a furrowed brow was seen amidst the perspiration and weariness. Even the intermittent rain did not dampen the spirit to keep going!

The youths got to know each other a little better and also reflected on the value of teamwork in fun and experiential activities. They also discussed how we can break out of our own comfort zone in order to develop more skills and hone our purpose in life.
Read moreFrom 16 to 19 September, Nalanda Youth Centre hosted its fifth Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults at Wisdom Park in Kuala Kubu Bahru. The 100 participants immersed themselves in learning, reflection and wholesome friendship, and experienced the simple joy of living in accordance to Dhamma. Many participants renewed their strength and conviction to rise above worldly frivolities and live more purposefully in accordance to the Buddha’s teachings.
