Nalanda Officers celebrate Teacher’s Day

Key officers gathered at Nalanda Centre for a meeting tonight took the opportunity to celebrate Teacher’s Day together with Bro. Tan, Sis. Sunanda, Sis. Nandini, and other teachers present.  President Bro. Lee Kong Foo thanked all teachers at Nalanda for their selfless service and sacrifice in educating our students.  Bro. Tan then led a prayer for the well-being of teachers around the world.

Nalanda members explore Kuala Lumpur

Nalandians from outside the Klang Valley who are in Selangor to participate in the inaugural National Members’ Convention from 1 – 3 May took time to explore Kuala Lumpur on Friday. Early in the morning, everyone embarked on a “Heritage Walk” exploring the old streets of KL with its rich history and tapestry of peoples and cultures.

Delightful 2nd Members’ Day in Kedah

Following the inspiring first Nalanda Sungai Petani Branch Members’ Day last month, the 2nd such training session was held on Saturday, 26 April in Gurun, Kedah.  Founder Bro. Tan spoke about “Observance Days” – what they are and why they are celebrated.  Among the three important annual Observance Days are ‘Buddha Day’ (Wesak Full-moon), ‘Dhamma Day’ (Asalha Full-moon), and ‘Sangha Day’.

National Nalanda Members’ Convention

From 1 May to 3 May, Nalanda members from all over Malaysia will congregate in Sri Serdang for the inaugural National Members’ Convention.  The 3-day convention will discuss issues pertaining to Dhamma-learning, practice and education.  Nalandians in Sri Serdang look forward to hosting members from all over the country this week!  Have a safe journey to Selangor, and see you at our ‘spiritual home’ – Nalanda Centre.  Welcome, Svagatam !

Weekend of bonding and learning

Over the weekend, Nalandians and devotees in Johor Bahru came together for a time of bonding and Dhamma learning.  On Saturday, 12 April members of Nalanda JB Branch had their first Members’ Day held at the NEO Centre in Taman Johor Jaya.  Founder Bro. Tan was present to share on Buddhist culture, teachings and practice.  Members had an interactive session and shared their reflections, in line with Nalanda’s 8 Core Values.

A Taste of Public Service in the U.S.A.
