Today is ‘Nalanda Day’, the day the Society was founded. It is a time for us to celebrate by paying tribute to our Dhamma teachers, benefactors, members and volunteers who enable Nalanda to carry out its unchanging Mission of providing holistic education. The progress that we see today is a concrete reflection of the spirit of the community that comes together and stays together through the years.

Read moreOn Sunday 9 February, Bro. Ananda Fong delivered a Dhamma talk on ‘Saddhā in Buddha-Dhamma’. ‘Saddhā’, a Pāli word, refers to faith or confidence in the Three Jewels. We develop this confidence by learning what the Buddha taught and more importantly, by applying the teachings and values in our daily lives.

Most of them had travelled back to Malaysia for their semester breaks and holidays in conjunction with the Lunar New Year. Nalandians joyfully welcomed them back to their spiritual home and exchanged the latest news.

Ajahn talked about how lay devotees can achieve a peaceful mind through integrating Dhamma into our daily lives. The practice of Dhamma is to understand the truth. Read moreFrom 28 to 30 December 2019, Nalandians were very happy to host Venerable Thitañana, founder of the Estonian Therāvadā Sangha, the Venerable Thitamedha, and nine youths from the Baltic country at Nalanda Centre for an exchange programme. The group had also visited other Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Cambodia, and Singapore to learn about Asian culture and the Buddhist way of life.

Read moreLast weekend, from 19 to 22 December, over 80 Dhamma School students were immersed in the Dhamma as part of the School’s stay-in programme at Nalanda Centre. Themed ‘Heart to Heart’, Nalanda Dhamma School Director Sis. Sunanda and the School’s facilitators led students of ages 9 to 17 in various activities to learn, study and practice the noble teachings of the Buddha.
