Read moreOn 25 and 26 October, the final two sessions of the Mandarin Buddhist Studies Course (Semester 2) was conducted by Sis. Nandini Tan at NEO Centre Johor Bahru. Sis. Nandini gave separate lectures on the ‘Four Noble Truths’ and ‘Noble Eightfold Path’. Six new participants joined the weekend’s class and showed great enthusiasm by arriving early at the Centre to learn the Dhamma.

The proposed NEO Centre will function as the branch’s administrative and activity centre, and provide another much-needed place for the Buddhist community in Northern Malaysia to learn Buddha-Dhamma.

The objective of this gathering was to foster bonding and to promote Buddhist values and culture. Besides, the Branch Committee took this opportunity to thank all devotees and members for their contribution in the recent Nalanda Family Fun Fair held on 24 August.
Read moreOn Thursday 4 September, Nalanda Kuala Lumpur Branch welcomed its members to the second session of the 7-week ‘Mettā Bhāvanā’ meditation course. During group sitting, participants were skilfully guided by Bro. Tan, who reiterated that Mettā meditation is one of the antidotes to the three ‘mental poisons’ of greed, hatred and delusion. Eliminating these three poisons will end suffering and lead to liberation from misery.
