8 days to NEO Center KL Officiating Ceremony

‘Pindacāra’ (monks on alms round) was the first Dhamma programme initiated at NEO Centre in Happy Garden.  On 2 June 2012, Nalandians and volunteers introduced the wholesome practice of dāna (generosity) to market-goers and vendors in the Taman O.U.G. market, and subsequently to the Happy Garden market.

‘Pindacāra’ joyfully welcomed by the community

On Saturday 12 November,  the pindacāra (alms-round) programme re-commenced at the O.U.G and Happy Garden morning markets after the necessary pause due to the pandemic.  Nalandians started the wholesome event with morning puja and chanting at NEO Centre KL, and reached the markets early to engage with community.

Meritorious deeds at monthly Pindacāra

On Saturday 1 February, devotees gathered at the Taman O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets to volunteer in the monthly community outreach programme, ‘Pindacāra’ (monks going on alms-round).  This programme enables the community to learn how to support Sangha members and provides a platform for them to do meritorious deeds.

Pindacāra on Eve of Buddha Day

Join us to offer alms to monks at the Jalan Besar market and Pasar Rakyat in Seri Kembangan this Saturday morning, the eve of Buddha Day.  The programme begins at 7.30am with chanting at Nalanda Centre, followed by alms-round at the two nearby markets from 8.30am.

Joyful experience of alms-giving

On 2 March, Nalandians spent their Saturday morning meaningfully at Taman O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets in the Pindacāra programme.  The programme has been held every first Saturday of the month since 2012 to create awareness on giving alms and the right way to support Sangha members.

Alms-round at Seri Kembangan markets

On Saturday 19 January, the mood lightened at the busy markets in Seri Kembangan when two Sangha members supported by a team of Nalandians and volunteers went on alms-round.  A long standing programme organised by Nalanda, Pindacāra provides an opportunity for the community to participate in this wholesome cultivation of generosity.

Indian monks and youths joined ‘Pindacāra’ programme

The ‘Pindacāra’ (alms-round) held on 3 March was indeed a joyous occasion as two young bhikkhus and 17 Buddhist youth leaders from India joined devotees in this monthly programme.  The bhikkhus and youths were in Malaysia for 10 days as part of the “Jambudvipa-Suvarnabhumi Buddhist Youth Exchange Programme”, which is Nalanda Buddhist Society’s long-term mission to help revitalize the proper learning and practice of Buddhism in its land of origin – India.

First Pindacāra scheduled for 2018

On Saturday 6 January, Nalanda will be organising our first monthly educational Pindacāra (monks going on alms-round) of 2018 at Taman O.U.G. and Happy Garden markets.  The day’s programme will begin at 7.30am with morning chanting at NEO Centre Kuala Lumpur in Happy Garden, followed by the alms-round starting 8.30am in Taman O.U.G.
