On Sunday 2 August, a group of ‘kalyana mittā’ (spiritual friends) from Buddhist Fellowship Singapore joined Nalandians and devotees for a spiritual and joyful Service Sunday at Nalanda Centre. The group was warmly hosted by Sis. Nandini, and brought on a building tour by Bro. Charlie and Sis. Santi. After listening to a Dhamma talk by Venerable Chi Kwang Sunim, everyone took the opportunity to offer lunch dāna to Ayya.
Read moreOn Sunday 26 July, devotees gathered at Nalanda Centre to observe ‘Dhamma Day’. ‘Dhamma Day’ commemorates the preaching of Buddha’s first discourse after His Enlightenment – the ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’ – where He taught His first five disciples the fundamental teachings of the ‘Four Noble Truths’. As the day signifies the preaching of Buddha’s first discourse, Bro. Tan led devotees in reciting the famous ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’.

On Sunday 28 June, Nalandians came together at NEO Centre Johor Bahru in their uniforms (white top and sarong) to observe their first ‘Samaggi’ Day which is on the last Sunday of every month. The meaning of ‘Samaggi’ is unity and harmony.

Santī spoke about the qualities of a good friend – being caring, supportive, helpful, and considerate, among others. She said that in order to be a good friend to others, we need to cultivate good qualities within ourselves, and strengthen our practice consistently until they become an integral part of our culture and character.
