School Honours Day Preparation

Since Sunday 29 December, Nalanda Dharma School students have been staying in at Nalanda Centre to prepare for their big event of the year – the “School Honour’s Day”! Both seniors and juniors from the School have worked hard in preparing a great show tonight as a gesture of appreciation to parents, supporters and benefactors who had supported the school throughout the year.

Joyful Dhammaduta tour to Kelantan

A team of 13 Nalandians, led by Sis. Sunanda Ong the Director of Nalanda Dharma School (NDS), had a fruitful Dhammaduta tour to Kelantan over the Christmas holidays.  The tour programme included a “Teenagers’ Learning Camp” and a “Dhamma School Teachers’ Workshop”, both jointly organized by NDS and Persatuan Buddhis Wakaf Bharu.

Dharma School Mission to Kelantan

A team of 12 Nalandians led by Dharma School Director Sis. Sunanda Ong left Nalanda Centre at 8.00pm this evening for an overnight train ride to Kelantan.  The Nalanda team comprising 3 teachers and 9 all-boys student group will stay in Bachok, Kelantan for 5 days to conduct a Dhamma camp for local teenagers.  In the meantime, Sis. Sunanda will also conduct a separate training session for Kelantanese Dhamma School volunteer-teachers.

Rejoicing over Students’ Good Results

Nalanda Dharma School (NDS) and Nalandians are rejoicing over the achievement of our students who recently received their “Lower Secondary Examination” (PMR) results. Choo Yi Kang and Yeap Heng Yii obtained perfect scores in their exams. Yi Kang obtained 8A’s in his PMR exams, and another 8A’s in his “Unified Examination Certificate” (UEC) exams, making it a perfect attainment of 16A’s. Heng Yii similarly scored A’s in all 15 subjects he took in both exams.

Meaningful Days with Beautiful Friends

With the start of year-end school break, 51 teenagers participated in a fruitful learning camp held at Nalanda Centre from 18 – 21 November.  Targeted at secondary school students from 13 to 17 years old, the participants converged from various parts of Klang Valley, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Johor, and even from Singapore.

Joyful Teenage Learning Camp

Nalanda Teenagers’ Learning Camp is in session now!  With the theme “Beautiful Friends”, this year’s camp attracted 51 participants between 13 – 17 years old, who came from the Klang Valley, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor and Singapore.

Visitors from SMJK Kwang Hua, Klang

Inspiring and beneficial SPM Seminar

On Saturday 12 October, Nalanda Free School organised an SPM Chemistry Examination Preparation Seminar to help Fifth-formers prepare for our upcoming exams. 78 students from 6 schools in Seri Kembangan and Kajang attended the full-day workshop at Nalanda Centre. We were honoured to have Sis. Khor Swee Moi, a dedicated volunteer teacher at Nalanda Free School, and “Guru Cemerlang (Kimia)” in 2010 (awarded by the Ministry of Education Malaysia) to conduct the course.
