Dhamma School outing to Putrajaya

On Sunday 19 February, Nalanda Dhamma School organised an outing for facilitators and students to Taman Putra Perdana in Putrajaya.  104 teenagers and children from Sri Serdang and Kuala Lumpur branches spent a healthy and fun day out with their Dhamma friends, while learning the important values of good friendship and loving-kindness.

Honouring parents at Tea Ceremony

On Sunday 12 February, Nalanda Dhamma School held its annual tea-offering ceremony in conjunction with the Lunar New Year.  The purpose of the tea ceremony was for children to express their love and gratitude towards parents and teachers who have cared for, and supported them unconditionally.

Secondary school students visit Nalanda

On Saturday 4 February, Nalandians were delighted to host a study tour by 80 students from SMK Gajah Berang, Malacca, and 40 students from SMK USJ 13, Selangor.  The young visitors and their teachers were warmly received in the morning, and they proceeded on a tour of Nalanda Centre.

Nalanda Dhamma School Honours Day

On the last day of 2016, Nalanda Dhamma School Facilitators, students and their parents, alumni, volunteers and guests gathered at Nalanda Centre for the annual School Appreciation and Honours Day.  It was an important event to celebrate the learning and progress of students throughout the year, and also to give thanks to teachers and parents who supported their learning.

Inspiring Teenagers’ Learning Camp

From 16 to 18 December 2016, Nalanda Dhamma School organized another wonderful teenagers’ learning camp themed ‘Inspector Me’.  74 youngsters ranging from 13 to 17 years old took part in the programme held at Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.

Teenagers learn Dhamma at holiday camp in Johor

The joy of camaraderie lingered in the hearts of 80 young participants after the 3-day Nalanda learning camp held from 2 to 4 December at Pure Karma Buddhist Centre, Johor.  Participating in the ‘friendship’-themed camp allowed the teenagers aged 13 to 17 the opportunity to learn and practise Dhamma joyfully alongside their kalyāna-mitta.

Back home to a “hero’s welcome”

On 1 December, 20 youths and students from Nalanda Dhamma School left for Johor Bahru to help conduct a Dhamma camp for teenagers there.  They returned joyfully to Sri Serdang on 4 December to a warm, late-night welcome by smiling teachers and parents.

Leaving for camp in Johor Bahru

Early this morning, 20 Nalandian youths and Dhamma School students gathered for chanting at Nalanda Centre before leaving for Johor Bahru to help conduct a 3-day Dhamma camp for teenagers there.  This trip is a wholesome start to their year-end school holidays as it promises much learning and community service.

Meditation Retreat on Saturday

Participants of the Dhamma-in-Youth meditation retreat are reminded to arrive at Nalanda Centre for registration between 8.00am and 8.45am this Saturday.  The retreat begins at 9.00am.  This one-day meditation retreat is specially catered for youths aged 16 to 29 to learn how to ‘de-stress’ and attain inner peace despite having packed academic, work and social schedules.  We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Camp for teenagers this holiday

During the upcoming holiday, Nalanda Johor Bahru Branch is organising a learning camp for teenagers between 13 and 17 years old.  The camp will be held from 2 to 4 December 2016, at Pure Karma Buddhist Centre, Taman Desa Cemerlang, Johor Bahru.  This educational camp will provide a healthy environment for teenagers to meet many ‘Beautiful Friends’ – friends with ‘beautiful’ behaviour, character, and mind.
