Preparations for the biggest Buddhist conference of the year in Malaysia are almost complete. We expect a hundred outstation and overseas guests to arrive in Kuala Lumpur today by road, rail, and air; many of them will be putting up at Saujana Hotel in Subang and Nalanda Centre tonight.

A public donation drive was immediately launched by several Buddhist organisations to raise money for flood relief and reconstruction work; Nalanda’s donation campaign lasted from 30 May to 16 June.

The team was there to inspect the ballroom, functions rooms and other facilities available at the resort, and to plan for the conference logistics.

Representatives from various Buddhist organisations such as the Theravada Buddhist Council of Malaysia, Seck Kia Eenh Melaka, Subang Jaya Buddhist Association, Bandar Utama Buddhist Society, Buddhist Gem Fellowship, Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society, Sungai Long Buddhist Society and Nalanda Buddhist Society were present to receive complimentary copies of the book.
