In the past week, Nalanda members, youths and students have been working together to prepare for Nalanda Family Fun Fair, which is just a few weeks away on Sunday 13 August. Particularly joyful is the preparation of ‘Care Bags’ and home-cooked meals for several welfare homes.

Ajahn Kalyano, Abbot of Buddha Bodhivana Monastery in East Warburton, Victoria. It was Ajahn’s first visit to Sungai Petani, and devotees up north were privileged to learn from this senior monk of the Ajahn Chah lineage.

They embarked on a trip to Malaysia and paid a visit to Nalanda after inviting Nalanda youths to share about Buddhist Education and how to run effective Dhamma programmes for youths.

Buddhinī, went on a leadership exchange visit to Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Centre Malaysia 法鼓山马来西亚道场 at their premises in Petaling Jaya. Greeted warmly by Ven. Chang Zao (常藻法师), and leaders of the Society, the group was brought on a tour around the Centre which caters to meditation, training and learning programmes.

They have just departed KLIA and are heading to Bangkok where they will travel to several monasteries to visit and pay their respects to venerable monks. The monks hailed from various provinces across the Indonesian islands, where they have been serving the local communities under the guidance of the Sangha Governance Council of STI.

At the same time, the Youth Centre also welcomed graduates of Nalanda Dhamma School for their first Sunday service.

Read moreOn Sunday 9 October, participants of the Horticulture & Landscaping Course (HCL 001) completed their course with a study trip to the Botanical Garden at Putrajaya. The educational tour was led by Dr. Chen, lead of the Landscaping Team at Wisdom Park and focused mainly on the trees in the Park’s botanical theme sector of ‘Forest Fringe’.
