Ven. Sanghasena visits Nalanda Centre

On Friday 13 March, Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang was honoured by the visit of Venerable Sanghasena Nāyaka Thero from Ladakh, India.  The Director of Nalanda Centre, Sis. Nandinī Tan, and Head of Department for Buddhist & Pāli Studies, Sis. Sandy Lim, hosted Ven. Sanghasena and two accompanying Ladakhi students on a tour of Nalanda Cente.

Visit by Venerable Ayyas

On Monday 2 February, Venerables Ayya Vijayani and Ayya Dhammadinna visited Nalanda Centre with a group of venerable nuns and samaneri for a familiarization tour.  The visiting venerable nuns were warmly received by Nalandian officers.  Sis. Nandini brought the venerables on a tour of Nalanda Centre and Youth Centre.

Visit by Central Kedah Buddhist Association

On Saturday 20 December, 18 members from Central Kedah Buddhist Association paid a visit to Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  They were warmly welcome and hosted by Director of Nalanda Centre, Sis. Nandini and Nalandian officers.  The group was brought on a tour of Nalanda Centre and Nalanda Youth Centre.  Our Kedahan visitors were impressed with the peaceful ambience and colourful design of the Youth Centre.

IMU students visit Nalanda Youth Centre

On Sunday 7 December, students from the International Medical University (IMU) in Bukit Jalil paid a visit to Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  They were warmly received and hosted by Nalandian youths.  The group spent 4 hours touring the facilities including Nalanda Youth Centre, Youth Library, and the Main Reference Library.

Kedahan Visitors at Nalanda Centre

On Sunday 23 November, 8 members from 3 Buddhist organisations in Kedah – Young Buddhist Association Malaysia (Kedah Liaison Committee), Gurun Buddhist Association and Guar Chempedak Buddhist Society – made a study visit to Nalanda Centre, Sri Serdang.  The visitors participated in the pūja and chanting at our Service Sunday; after which they were brought on a tour of Nalanda Centre and Nalanda Youth Centre.  Our Kedahan visitors were impressed with the peaceful ambience and functionality of the Centre.

Cheerful Singapore BF members visit Nalanda

On Sunday 2 November, just days after the visit by 90 Firefly Mission members, Nalanda was again honoured by the presence of another Singaporean group – a party of 40 cheerful Buddhist Fellowship (BF) members.  Led by its Deputy President Bro. Jerry Ong, the group was in Kuala Lumpur to watch “Xuan Zang – Journey to the West” musical.

Keat Hwa School students visit Nalanda

On Saturday 1 November, a group of 38 students and 2 teachers from the Buddhist Society of Keat Hwa Secondary School in Alor Star, made a half-day visit to Nalanda Centre.  They were warmly received by Nalandians, and thereafter everyone joyfully listened to a Dhamma sharing by Sis. Nandini Tan.

Venerable Ayyas’ visit to Nalanda Centre

On Wednesday 29 October, Nalandian officers warmly welcomed Venerables Ayya Aggavatī  and Ayya Cālā to Nalanda Centre for a familiarization visit.  Ven. (Sayalay) Cālā, a Malaysian ordained in the Burmese tradition, and Ven. (Sayalay) Aggavatī, a Burmese nun, are both studying at the International Theravada University in Yangon.
