New Year retreat with Ajahn Vajiro

On the first day of the year, Nalandians warmly welcomed Venerable Ajahn Vajiro to Wisdom Park, his first visit to the educational campus.   Nalanda Youth leaders and members took the opportunity to seek his advice as part of their annual Fuel-up Camp to prepare themselves for the year ahead.

Families grow closer to Dhamma at Family Camp

On the long holiday weekend of 24 to 26 December,  over 100 participants and volunteers gathered for the inaugural ‘Dhamma-living Camp for Families’ at Wisdom Park.   This family camp turned into an extraordinary opportunity for parents and children to bond with each other as they explored the theme “Gratitude is my attitude”.

Our first Dhamma-living Camp for Families concluded yesterday after 3 days of joyous learning and family bonding.  Both parents and children were deeply inspired by the insightful Dhamma talks and activities which filled their hearts with a deep sense of gratitude for one another.

Welcome to Dhamma-living camp for families

The inaugural Dhamma-living Camp for Families starts tomorrow morning at Wisdom Park.  Volunteers and Dhamma School facilitators have been enthusiastically preparing the programme, activities & facilities over the past few weeks, and are now ready to welcome parents and their children.  We look forward to seeing our participants tomorrow and wish everyone a safe journey!

Buddhist leaders rejoice at Wisdom Park

On Saturday 26 November, over 100 members of the Mahā Sangha and Buddhist leaders gathered at Wisdom Park in a joyful reunion of kalyana mittas. The group received updates on the progress of this educational facility dedicated to the Buddha Sasana and rejoiced in the Dhamma programmes held there to-date.

Family day out for Dhamma School parents & children

On Saturday 15 October, 72 Nalanda Dhamma School facilitators, parents and students had a joyful Family Day at Wisdom Park.  Families had the opportunity to work together to render their service in upkeeping Wisdom Park and greening the environment.  The service was followed by family-bonding activities which were filled with fun while instilling wholesome values such as patience, mutual support and trust between family members.

A new experience for new Buddhists

On 1 to 2 October, 60 participants and volunteers of the recently completed courses – BPS 104 Buddhist Studies in Mandarin and Svagatam Inspiring Programme joined a two-day retreat at Wisdom Park to deepen their Dhamma learning and experience aspects of the Buddhist way of life. We rejoice in the spirit of learning and service of everyone.

Turning hardwork into ‘heart-work’

On 18 September, 100 participants from the Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults spread out across Wisdom Park to render their service in cultivating and maintaining the campus grounds.  The youths worked hard in teams to plant trees, turf grass, and constructed a vegetable plot with positivity, harmony and a can-do spirit – not a furrowed brow was seen amidst the perspiration and weariness.  Even the intermittent rain did not dampen the spirit to keep going!
