On Sunday 10 November, Nalanda Teenage Dhamma School facilitators and students visited Bodhi Homecare in Cheras as part of their Karuna Project, which encourages students to turn compassion into action. The visit provided students with an opportunity to connect with the resident children and offer meaningful assistance.
During the visit, students joyfully offered their service as well as donated food and essential supplies to the home, fostering a positive and supportive environment for the residents. This experience helped students develop empathy and a sense of social responsibility, highlighting the importance of giving back to the community.
Sis. See Hui Shien, the Director of Nalanda Dhamma School shared Buddhist stories and gave encouragement to the children.
Through this effort, students also gained a greater appreciation for their own lives and learned not to take things for granted. We rejoice in the Dhamma School’s wholesome initiative, and we wish the residents in Bodhi Homecare continue to be well and receive blessings in life. Sadhu anumodana.
The resident children shared a meaningful song in high spirit and expressed their gratitude for the teenagers’ meaningful visit.
Upon returning from Bodhi Homecare, students had the opportunity to meet with Ven. Chandima and offered meal dana.
