22 December 2022 marks the 3rd anniversary of the passing of Venerable Dhammavuddho Mahāthero, a Malaysian monk of Chinese descent who dedicated his life to Dhamma. The late Ven. Dhammavuddho founded Vihara Buddha Gotama, a forest monastery in Perak that serves as a training facility for monks and those aspiring to be monks, as well as for the laity to study and practise Dhamma.
One of Ven. Dhammavuddho’s goals in life was to use his knowledge of the Buddha’s teachings to benefit others. True to himself, Ven. Dhamamvuddho had spent many years helping others as their Dhamma teacher, mentor and spiritual friend. He authored numerous Dhamma books, delivered talks relatable to the local communities and recorded expositions on the five Nikāyas systematically.
Let us pay tribute to this astute practitioner of Dhamma by reading his books or listening to his recorded talks on the Sutta-Vināya, and thereafter dedicate merits to him. With reverence and gratitude in our hearts, we wish Ven. Dhammavuddho the highest blessings of Peace. May he attain the final bliss of Nibbāna.
“The Dhamma is a compass that gives us the right direction in life. We use it in our everyday life, reflecting on our bodily actions, our speech, our mind (feelings, thoughts, perceptions, attitudes, etc.), the Dhamma, to develop our minds (bhavana) and our character.”
