After the full-moon Uposatha Pūja and meditation on Saturday 15 October, devotees were delighted to listen to a Dhamma sharing by Sis. Sunandā. She spoke about the chronicles of Queen Mallikā, one of the great lay women disciples of the Buddha.
Sis. Sunandā related the story of how Mallikā became the queen of Kosala through reaping the benefits of offering almsfood to the Buddha in the same day. She also spoke of how Queen Mallikā provided support in the spiritual development of her husband, King Pasenadi, through playing the pivotal role of kalyāna-mitta.
Highlighting the noble qualities illustrated through many incidents in Queen Mallikā’s life, Sis. Sunandā urged devotees to emulate the celebrated and exemplary lady disciple of the Buddha. We thank Sis. Sunandā for her wonderful sharing. Sadhu anumodana.
