Ven. Narada’s books at Nalanda Library

The late Ven. Narada of Sri Lanka was an illustrious teacher, writer and commentator of Buddhist texts.

Pustaka Nalanda (Library) holds a collection of Buddhist books authored by the late Venerable Narada Nāyaka Māha Thero (1898 – 1983), a prolific Dhamma teacher, speaker, writer and translator from Sri Lanka.  Some of his works such as the seminal “The Buddha and His Teachings” has become a classic ‘textbook’ for students of Theravāda Buddhism.

Pustaka Nalanda currently has more than 4,000 titles of reference books on Buddhist teachings.  The books are mainly in English; but there is also a large collection of Mandarin and even foreign-language publications.  The main facility at Nalanda Centre Sri Serdang operates from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 10am to 6pm.  There are two other branch libraries – one attached to NEO Centre Kuala Lumpur in Happy Garden, and another at NEO Centre Johor Bahru in Taman Johor Jaya – both of which operates on weekends.

Pustaka Nalanda also runs the Nalanda Youth Library in Sri Serdang, which has a collection of more than 1,100 titles suitable for younger readers.  We welcome you to make use of our facilities at Pustaka Nalanda for your research and reading pleasure.  Nalanda Library membership is FREE.  All are welcome!
