Vesakha Month starts today

Vesakha Month starts today

Today is the New-moon day of the holy Vesakhā Month. On these Uposatha (observance) days, the laity devote themselves to a day of restraint, meditation and cultivation of mindfulness. Some may observe the Eight Precepts and listen to or read Dhamma teachings attentively.

In just two weeks time, Buddhists around the world will celebrate the most important day in the Buddhist calendar – the Vesakhā Full-moon ‘Buddha Day’.  We invite you to join us at Nalanda for ‘Buddha Day’ Observance which starts on 10 May and runs until 18 May.

Let us spend this Wesak in a meaningful manner by learning and living in accordance to Dhamma with the support of good spiritual friends.  For the list of programmes, please visit www.wesak.org.my.
