This Saturday 20 July is the full-moon day of the Asalha month which marks the occasion over 2,600 years ago when the Buddha delivered the First Sermon on the ‘Four Noble Truths’ and the ‘Noble Eightfold Path’ to the world. The occasion is also known as ‘Dhamma Day’, and is one of the seven observance days at Nalanda.
On this observance day, we invite you to join us for the following programmes to spend a wholesome day cultivating generosity, virtuous conduct and mindfulness.
Pindacāra in Seri Kembangan | 8.30am | Bazar Rakyat, Seri Kembangan
The ‘Pindacāra’ programme in Seri Kembangan starts at 8.30am at the Bazar Rakyat market (https://maps.app.goo.gl/qo4wjvpPrEHQ8ZUf6). Volunteers will gather at Nalanda Centre at 7.30am. After the alms-round, join the offering of lunch dana to venerable monks at Nalanda Centre. You may bring along cooked food and fruits to offer.
Cultivation Day | 10am – 10pm | Nalanda Centre
Held in conjunction with the Gimhāna Retreat, we invite you for a day of learning and meditation at Nalanda Centre. The programme starts at 10am with morning chanting, followed by sitting and walking meditation sessions.
BPS 307 Lecture 6 | 2.30pm – 6.00pm | Nalanda Centre
Participants of BPS 307 are invited back for Lecture 6 on ‘Ten Unwholesome Deeds’ by Sis. Lim Kah Hong. The session starts at 2.30pm with meditation and chanting. We look forward to continue our learning together.
Asalha Full-moon Uposatha Service | 8pm – 10pm | Nalanda Centre
The service will start at 8pm with offerings, chanting, meditation and reciting the ‘Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta’, followed by a Dhamma talk by Sis. Buddhini Tan. All are welcome!
