Today 10 October is designated as World Mental Health Day. Good mental health is vital to our overall well-being, yet one in eight people globally experience mental health conditions which impact every aspect of their lives. Mental health conditions are also becoming more common in adolescents and young people.
Developing mindfulness is fundamental towards improving mental health. With practice, we become more adept at staying in the present moment and having more clarity. At the same time, we benefit from subduing proliferating thoughts which is the cause of unfounded anxiety, anger and even depression.
Let us take time to reflect on our own mental health and how we can further train our minds towards wholesome mental states. We wish you good mental health, every day. Sukhihontu.
