Youth Exchange Programme inspires action

From 16 to 25 November, Nalanda hosted 10 specially selected youth leaders from Ladakh and 18 Malaysian youths in the 2nd Jambudvipa-Suvarnabhumi Buddhist Youth Exchange Programme (YEP), a project undertaken by Nalanda in partnership with several Buddhist organisations in India with the aim of revitalising the proper learning and practice of Buddhism in its land of origin.

This short but impactful 10-day programme gave rise to a fruitful exchange of ideas, dialogue and reflections, guided by Dhamma teachers and facilitators.  Our Ladakhi friends, who travel back to their homeland today, return with aspirations to establish platforms of learning including a Dhamma school for children to impart not just knowledge, but also skills, values and culture in order for others to live a meaningful life in Dhamma.

We rejoice in our youths’ learning spirit and compassion for the well-being of others.  Together, let us all play our part to be catalysts in this noble mission of providing educational based on Buddha-Dhamma, which will prolong the Buddha’s dispensation for more generations to come.  Sadhu anumodana and may all beings be well and happy!
