Youth service explores mindfulness & awareness

Host Sis. Amanda Ng welcomes the youths to the service.

On Sunday 1 September, Nalanda Youths conducted their weekly Sunday Service at the Youth Centre before the Dhamma-Living Camp for Young Adults.  Before the talk, Youth Mentor Sis. Nandini Tan lent her presence and shared that awareness is not just about being mindful in the present moment but also about understanding how we relate to our surroundings and the passage of time.  By cultivating this awareness, we can respond skillfully to situations and navigate life with purpose.

The Dhamma talk by Bro. Yeo Disheng emphasised the importance of mindfulness in everyday life.  He shared that mindfulness starts from being in the present moment and recognising unwholesome habits.  One can then make conscious choices and replace unskilful reactions with wholesome behaviours, whether in solitude or public.  Bro. Disheng also encouraged consistent practice, as mindfulness leads to inner clarity, wisdom, and peace in all situations.

Youths have deeper discussions and reflections in smaller groups.

The session ended with much inspiration and charge as youths stayed back after session for the final preparations for Dhamma Living Camp for Young Adults.  Sadhu anumodana!
