On Sunday 27 March, Nalanda Youth Centre organised its first recycling project to help raise funds for Kitarsh Handicapped and Disabled Children’s Home. The home was in need of funds because it was partly destroyed by fire last year.
Nalanda House and SJK (C) Serdang Baru 2 were designated as collection points for the green project. With the help of some 26 Nalanda youths, and the generous support of the community, the project raised RM5,000 for charity.
Not all the items brought to the collection centres were recyclable; some donors preferred to give cash, and food and beverages to the home. At the end of the day, the youths, who had been working tirelessly since the project began, were happy for the opportunity to serve the community and to contribute towards a good and wholesome cause.
We thank everyone for their support in helping the less fortunate and protecting the environment with us. Sadhu anumodana!
