Sahassa Vagga (Thousands)
Verse 103
Yo sahassam sahassena
sangāme mānuse jine
Ekañ ca jeyyam’attānam
sa ve sangāmajuttamo
sangāme mānuse jine
Ekañ ca jeyyam’attānam
sa ve sangāmajuttamo
Though one should conquer
a million men in battle,
yet he indeed is the noblest victor,
who has conquered himself.
a million men in battle,
yet he indeed is the noblest victor,
who has conquered himself.
